ACCOMMODATION

Hotel International Zagreb

Meals

First Meal Provided – Dinner on day of arrival

Dinners will be served from 19.00 till 22.00.

Last Meal Provided – Breakfast on day of departure Breakfast and Dinner will be served in the hotel, Lunch will be served in the venue.

The competition schedule will not include lunch breaks, so lunch will be served from 1200 pm to 300 pm.

It is the responsibility of each country to advise the HOC of any special dietary requirements as part of the final entry.

Transport

At arrival and departure, the HOC will ensure transportation for all delegations and officials from Zagreb Airport to the Hotel and from the Hotel to the Airport.

During competition the HOC will ensure transportation on the route Hotel – Venue – Hotel.

Detailed schedule of transport will be available in teh hotel lobby and at the information desk at the Venue.

Parking

For those who come with their own transport we recommend first to check in the hotel, leave all your stuff at the hotel room and then drive to the venue.

We will make sure to find a parking space for you at the Venue.

Restricted areas

Access to Restricted Areas Access to restricted areas is limited to authorised personnel only and in accordance with the WorldBoccia Rules. Authorised personnel are only granted access if they are wearing their appropriate Accreditation Card in a visible place.

Access to the Information Desk is restricted to the Team Manager or designated person. The sports information desk will be located at the VenueIn front of main entrance to the venue.

Access to the Competition Secretariat Office is restricted to members of the HOC and BISFedBoccia officials. All enquiries should be addressed to the Information desk.

Currency

As of 01 January 2023, the currency of Croatia is the euro.

Insurance and Medical

Each team must attend the Event with their own medical and travel insurance to cover loss of property, injures or medical treatment, travel disruption or luggage loss.

The emergency number is 112.

WorldBoccia and the HOC will accept no responsibilities for injuries or loss of wages due to injuries.

The nearest Hospitals with Emergency Services are KBC SestreMilosrdnice, Vinogradskacesta 29 (1,9km from the venue) and KB Sveti Duh, ulicaSveti Duh 64 (2,4km from the venue). There will be First Aid provision at the venue.

Covid-19

Participants will need to present, prior to arrival, a valid and updated Vaccination Certificate, which will be a mandatory requirement to participate in World Boccia Events (except in the case of impossibility to be vaccinated for medical reasons, which will imply PCR testing).

CROATIAN COVID MEASURES

Description of COVID-19 prevention measures which must be followed by allparticipants (according to World Boccia COVID-19 Competition Protocol – version 2.0,February, 2023)

Such measures should include the following as a minimum: 

  • Regular hand washing; 

  • Maintaining social distance (preferably 1,5m); 

  • Following marked circulation routes in all indoor spaces (competition venue, hotels); 

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth without having washed hands; 

  • Avoid touching surfaces wherever possible; 

  • Minimise the items which are taken to the Call Room and Field of Play to reduce the possibilities of infection. 

  • Avoiding unnecessary physical contact such as handshakes, hugs and kisses. 

  • Although it is not mandatory, World Boccia recommends all participants to wear a mask or face covering indoors at all times unless there is a valid medical reason why this is not possible.

  • The meaning and practical implications of quarantine, self-isolation and selfmonitoring in the context of the event, e.g., rules for when a person should not attend the venue.

COMPETITION GUIDE

List of Officials
Accreditation

Team Leaders will collect Accreditations for all their team members at the Hotel desk.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will take a place in the Venue on the 26th March at 5 pm.

Medal Ceremony

Medal Ceremony for individuals will take place in the venue on the 30th March, shortly after the last matches.

Medal Ceremony for Teams and Pairs will take place in the venue on the 1st April, shortly after the last matches.

Closing Ceremony

Closing Ceremony will take place in the venue on the 1st April, after the Medal Ceremony.

Technical Meetings

The technical meeting will take place at the hotel on 26th March at 20:00.

The Schedule for the First Competition Day will be available online shortly after the Technical Meeting.

Rules

RULES The competition will be conducted in accordance with the BISFed International Boccia Rules as published on the WorldBoccia website.

Entry to the Warm up Courst, Call room and FOP will be restricted as per the rules.

Competitor number (BIB)

Upon confirmation of classification, each athlete BC1 and BC3 will be given 4 competitor numbers and each Athlete BC2 and BC4 will be given 2 competitor numbers. 

  • One of the pieces must be worn by an Athlete at all times during the hours of competition. The competitor number must be affixed on the front of the shirt or the trouser leg. The assistants of BC1 and BC3 Athletes will have their competitor number affixed where visible according the Rules. 

  • The other competitor numbers are a spare copy.

If an athlete forgets, loses or chooses not to wear their competitor number, they will not be permitted to enter the warm-up area, the Call Room or the field of play.

Equipment Check

The Equipment Checkwill be done according to the schedule in the Competition Venue.

At any time, including during a match, the referee may confirm the eligibility of any piece of equipment. Any equipment that fails eligibility during competition will be confiscated for the remainder of the competition.

All BC3 Sports Assistant are required to bring their passport to the equipment check in order to confirm Nationality eligibility according to the BISFed Policy - Nationality of competitors.

Training on the F.O.P.

The teams must be at the entrance of the competition area at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time. 5 minutes before the finish time they must stop training and prepare all the equipment to get out at the scheduled time.

Access to the entrance of the training area will be allowed only to accredited staff or athletes who are scheduled for training.

Uniform Color

A list of every team uniform color will be distributed during the technical meeting. After the final schedule is finished, the TD will revise it and identify the matches with possible color clash.

On matches where the color clash is identified the lower ranked side will be instructed by the TD to change to an alternate uniform color.

Jackets of a different color will be allowed, as long as the Bib Number is visible, and the correct shirt color underneath.
